The situation

What has happened

Coral Coast Air Charter's twin piston aircraft VH-CCX has a left navigation light reported inoperative on a night pre-flight check, logged as DEF-26-0412 with work order WO-26-1184 raised. The aircraft has a night charter on Friday. Ahmed Farouk wants a logical troubleshooting sequence from the wiring diagram, starting with the lamp and working back through the connector, wiring, switch and circuit breaker, with every test and result recorded. The bench multimeter MM-008 is withdrawn for overdue calibration, so a calibrated meter must be drawn from the register, and any part fitted must come from the bonded store with its batch recorded.

Your brief. Troubleshoot the navigation light circuit using the approved wiring data and calibrated test equipment, rectify the fault with correctly documented parts, perform the functional check and record the work for inspection and certification.

What to look for

Evidence guide

Look for a written troubleshooting sequence derived from the wiring diagram, readings recorded at each point rather than a jump to replacing the lamp, and correct isolation and power application. The part must be traced from the register to the work order. The functional check and the defect log update must be complete and the work presented for certification rather than self certified.

The student's evidence summary lists every record they created or changed in the systems named above, their notes and the tasks they ticked. Verify it against the deliverables and your own assessment tool.
