VH-SFT grounded pending tool search
A 10 mm combination spanner is unaccounted for after afternoon shift work in the VH-SFT engine bay. The aircraft is grounded under the tool control procedure until the tool is found or the documented search is complete. If you used a spanner near this aircraft on Tuesday afternoon, speak to Marcus today. This is a no blame search and a reminder to sign tools out and in.

Withdrawn multimeter and torque wrench due
Multimeter MM-008 is withdrawn for overdue calibration and must not be used. Torque wrench TQ-021 is due for calibration on 14 September and will be withdrawn on that date. Check the calibration label before using any measuring or test equipment and use the register to find a replacement. Quality will audit tool control on 21 September.

Safety committee meeting and human factors briefing
The safety committee meets on Wednesday 23 September at 1:00 pm in the training room. The agenda includes the close up error trend, the tow bar shear pin event and the wash bay floor hazard. A human factors briefing will follow the meeting and counts toward refresher training for the eleven staff due before December.

Apprentice progress reviews this month
Stage reviews for all twelve apprentices will be held between 14 and 25 September with supervisors and the training coordinator. Apprentices must bring their logbooks up to date and supervisors must confirm the tasks witnessed. Licence candidates sitting exams in November can book study leave through the Quality and Safety Manager.

Customer open hangar morning
Operators and owners are invited to the Archerfield hangar on Saturday 14 November from 9:00 am to see the structures bay, the engine workshop and the new avionics bench. Volunteers are needed to host tours and to prepare the display aircraft. No maintenance will be scheduled in the hangar that morning and the apron will be closed to towing.
