The situation

What has happened

A delivery from Aerospares Pacific arrives with the elevator trim tab hinge needed for the VH-NAM phase inspection and two hydraulic seal kits with shelf life. At the same time a customer has dropped off a set of brake linings for VH-SFR in unmarked packaging with no release documentation, bought online. Jess Nakamura wants the delivery received under the parts procedure with every check recorded in the register, and the brake linings quarantined, recorded and reported as a suspected unapproved part so the Quality and Safety Manager can assess them. The hangar is waiting on the hinge, so accuracy and speed both matter.

Your brief. Receive and inspect the delivery against the order and the release documents, enter each item correctly in the Parts and Bonded Store Register, store shelf life items properly, quarantine the undocumented brake linings and complete the occurrence report.

What to look for

Evidence guide

Evidence must show each incoming check performed and recorded, release documents matched to parts and batches, shelf life handled correctly and the brake linings quarantined rather than stored. The occurrence report must describe the part factually and the student must show they understood why undocumented parts cannot be fitted. Communication to Planning about the hinge shows workflow awareness.

The student's evidence summary lists every record they created or changed in the systems named above, their notes and the tasks they ticked. Verify it against the deliverables and your own assessment tool.
